Did Your Summer Fly By?
What did you do this summer? Go on a cool vacation? Build your new camper van? Have relatives stay longer than expected? Or, did you just keep on keeping on all summer long? Hopefully, you either had some fun or you put some time into your future plans, whatever they may be. All I know is the summer passed by in a flash.
I took two trips to Austin this summer and that was all the traveling I was able to enjoy. Instead, I worked on business projects in hopes of building on online empire. MUHAHAHAH! LOL! Kidding. I just want to be able to make money while traveling the states in my Astro camper van without having to worry about running out of money. This goal is very important to me and I’m prepared to put the travels on hold until I’m making a comfortable income online. Enough money talk, let me tell you what I did do this summer.
My first trip to Austin was to visit my Dad and complete the solar panel build and we hoped to get some of the storage built as well. That trip was fun and the panels have worked amazingly well for the past few months. It’s been about 3 months now since I last connected to shore power. The idea of getting power from the sky is just so cool. If you missed that post, here is a look at the solar panels up on the roof:
The Green Room Meetup
The second trip I took to Austin was to meet up with a group I belong to called “The Green Room” which is a paid Facebook group made up of like-minded individuals. The majority of us are in some sort of online business whether that is eCommerce, Marketing, Video, Product Creation or local/online reselling. The group has an annual meetup in Austin to allow the members to get to know one another face to face and to build business relationships and friendships. This was my first time attending the meetup and it was the 3rd annual group get together.
The Admins of our group planned 5 days of activities for the members with one final Main Event on the final night at a ranch north of Austin. The group is has over 700 members. I would say that about 80 or 90 made the trip out to Austin for the big meetup. There were lots of names to learn. We had a blast with daytime activities and nighttime activities. Morning walks in nature, as well as social events at game rooms, Top Golf and dive bars. What a great way to meet the other members.
Learning From Others Will Make Me Stronger
The best part about meeting these other members was getting to talk to them about their lives and how they run their businesses which is way better than the quick messages you see in a Facebook group. I’m a solo-entrepreneur and I don’t really have anyone to turn to when I have a business problem or question. Well, with this group, I now know many members I can confidently talk to about similar business ideas or problems that I know they may have dealt with already.
How Was Your Summer?
Thanks for reading this post. Let me know what you did this summer in the comments. I would love to here what I may have missed out on. 🙂
